ěattleship: Deals more damage than a frigate but slower.ğrigate: My preferred naval unit as it is SO FAST and stills deal considerable damage on both sea and at units near the coast.Privateer: Only naval unit not to deal a ranged attack, so only useful as suicide killers or just as defensive.Ěrmored Car/s: Like machine gun but faster, however still not great against forts or ships.Guards Cavalry: Imperial Guard equivalent to Cav but is slower than previous units but still formidable.Heavy Cav: Better at decreasing morale but not great damage against mechanised units.Light cavalry: Fast but only deals considerable damage to infantry.Rockets: Only unit in game to deal damage avoid retaliation to any unit even at units capable of ranged attacks, but cannot counterattack so extremely vulnerable.Siege artillery: Deals more to forts, ships and units in cities, but compromises against other units.Heavy Artillery: Can deal high damage to any units (especially high against forts + ships) but SO SLOW like Siege artillery.Light artillery: Cheap and only arty unit (apart from rocket) that can move two spaces on land without any generals.Machine Gun/s: Deals high damage to infantry and cavalry, but not so great against others (not the best choice against forts).Triple formation is only available at capitals which are VII cities. Imperial Guard: Great all round but slow and very costly.Grenadiers: Deals extra damage to ships and forts and decent against other troops.Light Infantry: Fastest unit available for infantry and very mobile and even as fast as cav troops!.Line Infantry: High health when in triple formation and a healthy output at the start and very cheap at it (the highest HP for inf = Imperial Guard double or triple formation).Militia: Only unit that does not require technology but is very weak against other units in general (unless you have a gen in one unit). There are various types of Infantry, Cavalry (which can demoralize units with a given chance and can attack after killing a unit), artillery (are the only land based units that do ranged attacks and can move), ships (sea artillery basically) and forts (Immobile Artillery).įor Infantry, Artillery, and Cavalry units, if you tap on selecting a unit twice (or thrice for infantry), you get formation, and this doesn’t necessarily increase attack power but increases health more and more, but costs more as well. In EW4, you have various units that may vary if you have come to this game after experiencing various easytech games, (I came to this after GOG I). UNITS AND FORMATION (NO NOT THE INFANTRY SKILL) You have to win by securing various strong points (which can be either cities, stables, factories or ports) or killing enemy generals (sometimes both) and with one exception in Rise of America Revenge of the British, you have to kill all enemy units and taking all the enemy cities. There are various nations whose forces have their own advantages and setbacks such as Britain and France having better navy compared to other nations and the US and Indian tribes having better militia. Not personally targeting anyone, but for those who don't have the slightest inkling of knowledge in modern history, This game is set during the Napoleonic wars with a few additional alternate history battles that have never occurred or is in the opposite side compared to the victor in RL. Please note that not all of this is my content but modeled after other members output throughout the thread I have also made this introduction using links to other threads in this board. I am creating an overview and easy understanding to all necessary content in the European War 4 board that may be extremely useful advice new players in their starting strategy for spending medals and emblems as well as using various methods.
